Hope

Years ago, after my boyfriend drowned, it was challenging for me to believe that good things would eventually happen in my life again. At a very dark time during my grief, I tried to kill myself, but God breathed hope back into my life and gave me a reason to live, writing. At that time, I never could have dreamed that my book, Legacy of Love, would make the number one bestseller list in more than one category. All I knew then was that I had to share my story. That became my reason and purpose for making it through that very dark time. I never dreamed that it would take 28 years to finally have the book published. All I knew then was that God was asking me to write and that my book saved my life by giving me a reason to wake up in the morning. This dream filled my life for so many years, but I could never have fathomed that God had a huge plan for this book. This has always been God's book. I have always asked God to do what He wanted with this book. God is a God of miracles. He a God that parted the red sea, that made the son stand still. Nothing is too hard for God to do. Now I think back to that dark day in my life and to the miracle that God has done during my book launch, and I can't help crying and praising God for this miracle. He is the one in charge here. So I sit here amazed at the goodness of God. When we follow His leading, He always blesses us. I give God the glory. Thank you, Father, for taking me from darkness and hopelessness to victory and light. You have filled me with hope Father. Thank you for walking through the darkness with me and filling me with light.

Maybe tonight, you feel hopeless, depressed, and you see no light at the end of the darkness. Tonight Father, I ask you to surround these people with Your love. Help them to feel Your arms surrounding them and filling them with love. Breathe peace, and hope back into their life. Fill them with a reason and purpose to keep going. Help them to reach for You. Remove the hurts, habits, hang-ups, and addictions from their lives. Fill them with Your love. You carved them in the palm of Your hands. Isaiah 49:16. They are Yours. Thank you that You promise never to leave us. Hebrews 13:5. Amen.
