Overwhelmed

It was one of those days. I had texts coming in from several people needing things, an email with forms to fill out and a phone call to make. I was on the phone when a friend and her children came to help us with our yard work. The dogs were barking and the man doing our renovations was sending me text messages while I struggled through online screens with the man I was speaking with on the phone. It was all coming at me from all angles and the online forms weren’t processing correctly. Smoke was pouring from my ears. I was stressed beyond compare and needed to oversee the work outside so my friend knew what we needed help with. I was ready to run and hide. Everytime I turned around there was someone to deal with and there were still a lot of things to do before I headed off to work and to a commitment in the evening. I decided it was the day to skip that evening program and chill so I could recover. After work I drove home, quickly changed and headed out to jump on the trampoline in the drizzling rain. Thankfully it wasn’t a downpour. I asked God to send the rain away so I could relieve my stress outside. He answered my prayers, pushing away the torrents. It was just a light rain that hardly soaked me. God allowed it to wash away my feeings of being overwhelmed. The birds began chirping and the cool evening calmed my soul. I went inside refreshed, ate, and finally submitted the forms I’d been struggling to send. Miracles began to happen. Peace again reigned in my life.

Maybe you are feeling overwhelmed. There may be a zillion things that you need to accomplish that are causing anxiety. My prayer is that God will help you find the strength to do the things you need to do and that He will fill you with His peace.
