An Open Door

God has interesting ways of working in our lives. As I think about this my mind travels to a specific day this year when I went somewhere thinking that was where I belonged. Three hours later I left knowing I would not return. The incredible certainty that God had another door was so obvious to my heart and mind. Yet, I was hurting deeply by the events of that day. I spent most of the next few days in tears. It would take time to recover. But even in my sorrow there was no doubt in my mind that God opened a new door and He was asking me to run through it. I obeyed.

As I look back on that painful day, I'm thankful God scooped me out of that place. The door He opened was an answer to years of prayer and searching for acceptance and love. He knew I needed support and a place to heal. Two weeks later that solution came when I spoke with someone after church. The next day I opened the doors to the most supportive group of people I've ever met in my life. There in that place I began to learn the steps and principles to find healing. It has been the best thing that ever happened to me.

Are you in a place where God has asked you to walk through a new door? Don't be afraid. Listen to Him. Walk through it with confidence. Wait and see what God does for you. I promise if you follow God's lead you will find the place that is right for you.
